What’s the benefit of a lever belt?
Lifting belts are made to support your spine by increasing pressure in your core. By using a belt, you increase the intra-abdominal pressure in your body– meaning you can lift more weight and help prevent injuries. However, it’s not a replacement for proper lifting technique.
Unlike belts with one or two prongs, lever belts only need to be adjusted the first time you use them. This makes it faster and easier to put on and take off the belt without fiddling with the prongs each time.
Should I choose the 10mm or 13mm Lever Belt?
Both belts offer substantial support. The main difference is that the 13mm belt has extra material, making it slightly thicker and offering slightly more support. If you're a beginner or haven't used a lifting belt before, you might find the 10mm belt more comfortable.
Is this belt approved for use in competitions?

My Strength Shop 10MM Lever Belt is a game-changer! I got the 3" version as I have a short torso, and it fits perfectly. I love how easy it is to flip the lever in between sets. My lifts feel so much stronger and secure with this belt. I even hit a new PR the first time I deadlifted with it!

The leather belt is great, but the buckle itself is too curved to where even the screws don't fully tighten the belt in. The buckle needs to be engineered better so it isnt so curved. The belt is more flat than curved.
Had a hard time finding a 3” belt but this one is perfect. I have a 28-29” waist so I chose the medium. 3” is perfect for me because I have a short torso (tend to wear petite in womens tops and dresses) and am 5’3”. It doesn’t crush my ribcage or press down on my hip bone like the standard 4” belts do. Support is great, I instantly went up 20-30 lbs in squat and deadlift the day I used it. Lever is super secure once you get it on the right setting - no danger of it popping out halfway through a rep. Stitches are durable. Great customer service also- I had initially ordered a small which didn’t have any room if I gain weight. Reached out to customer service and they sent me a return shipping label and sent out the medium at no additional cost to me. Overall, great purchasing experience and phenomenal performance.
Simply the Best Weight Lifting Belt I’ve ever owned! I’m 5’7 143lbs, I ordered the Small size and still have another slot to go up, no excess leather on my waist, a perfect fit! The Medium would have been good also, but I’m glad i ordered the Small size, the 3inch width still feels very secure on my Squats. The strengthshop size guide is accurate, if you’re between sizes go up a size if you’re planning to bulk for a broader size range, if on a cut go down, remember you will lose range size going up!

This 3 in belt has completely replaced my 4 in for all 3 lifts. I originally got it for bench and it's perfect! Doesn't hurt the arch and provides amazing bracing! Took a sharpie and made it fully black but this is it on my bench. Looks good just sitting there! 5 stars

Great belt for a short torso or just want to have less support and use more muscle strength. I also have the 4” belt for competition purposes. It’s nice to switch between the 3” and 4” to cycle strength and support to push past plateaus.
Finally had to buy myself a belt and decided to go with a 3in belt since I’m short. It definitely does the trick! My lift definitely felt stronger and more stabilized with the belt. No digging into my hips or ribs, and the lever makes for an easy on/off.

This belt has exceeded my expectations! I'm 5'2 and only 125 pounds, and I fit into size 0 jeans. I've been lifting for about a year and a half, and I have lately been pushing weights that are heavier and heavier. During this last cut the past few months, I was using a different belt that my gym provided. It was the smallest one they offered, and i had it tightened to the smallest hole, with my cut however I ended up getting too small for the belt and I in turn hurt my back on a set of squats because it didn't provide the support I needed. It was also super uncomfortable! because it was a 4 inch belt and then went to 5 inches where your back is. Because I'm so small, my rib cage and my pelvis were too close together for the size of that belt. I found this 3 inch belt, with a lever adjustment! I bought the xs, and oh my god its PERFECT! its not too wide and doesn't put pressure against the bottom of my rips or top of my pelvis, but also supports the heavy weights I'm pushing in the gym. I did some heavy squats in it today (3x8 at 185lbs), and heavy deadlifts in it yesterday (2x6 at 205lbs), and it felt super sturdy and helped me prevent any injury that could've come (like my last belt). I'm very happy with my purchase, and even happier with the price for the quality.

The belt is exceptional. 3" width fits much more naturally on my shorter torso than the standard 4". Feels sturdy and high quality, very comfortable, and looks really nice too. I love the light weight aspect of this belt and it's narrow width. BUT, I'm Right handed and close and open my belt on the Right, I either have to wear the belt upside down with the Chinese symbols obviously oriented incorrectly or switch to a Left side closure. I'm not jazzed with those options 2 months out from a competition.
